Every eye exam is performed by a licensed optometrist. Our team includes Dr. Vivian Li, O.D., a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry who provides comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations for patients of all ages.

Beyond reading an eye chart, our exams can include visual acuity and refraction, visual field testing (Humphrey Field Analyzer), binocular vision assessment, no-puff tonometry to screen for glaucoma, a dilated fundus examination, and retinal photography with OCT scans for early detection of eye disease.

A comprehensive eye exam typically takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the testing involved. A standard eyeglass exam typically takes 20 to 30 minutes.

Most adults benefit from an exam every one to two years, or sooner if your vision changes. As a guide: ages 18 to 39 every two years (annually if you wear contacts or have risk factors), ages 40 to 64 every one to two years, and 65 and older annually.

Yes. Our optometrists use age-appropriate testing to make exams comfortable and accurate for children from toddlers through teenagers. Annual exams are recommended because children often can’t tell when something is wrong with their vision.

Bring your medical and vision insurance cards so coverage and benefits can be verified. If your pupils will be dilated, bring sunglasses or arrange transportation, since your vision may be blurry and light-sensitive for several hours.
