XIT is 100% designed and made in France — and that commitment is structural, not decorative.
The brand is rooted in Marseille, where Lionel Bellet’s studio operates. Production is handled by two specialist manufacturers in Burgundy and the Jura region — the heartland of French eyewear craftsmanship — supporting approximately 48 skilled hands in French workshops, with an additional 12 in design and distribution. This is not outsourced French branding. It is French manufacturing, end to end, in the regions that have defined the craft for generations.
The materials reflect the same standard. XIT works in polished acetate with contrasting inlays, micro-perforated stainless steel, lightweight translucent nylon, and laser-sculpted steel — each chosen for how it behaves in the hand, under the light, and on the face. The FREAKS collection — with its asymmetric round-on-one-side, square-on-the-other silhouette — has become a collector piece. The Les Fleurs du Mal collection features verses by Baudelaire cut directly into the stainless steel face of the frame. These are frames conceived as small works of art — which is precisely what they are.
