Quickest turn around time for glasses in NYC
Theo Eyewear goes far beyond conventional eyewear, it represents a bold rethinking of what glasses can be. Combining artistic vision, technical innovation, and a strong identity, the brand has established itself as a distinctive force within the optical industry. Each collection reflects a commitment to creativity, individuality, and uncompromising quality.
That idea lives in the brand’s founding slogan, “theo loves you,” which is not a marketing line. It is the operating principle behind every design decision the brand has ever made.
Today, theo is carried in more than 1,600 stores across over 60 countries — from avant-garde boutiques in Tokyo to trusted independent opticians in Scandinavia. The brand’s reach is a testament to the fact that there are more people who want to be seen than the mainstream eyewear market has ever given credit for.
As an authorized Theo dealer, at Konstantin Vision, we carry theo eyewear at our NYC showroom because they represent something genuinely different in a market that often plays it safe.
Theo frames attract clients who have already found their voice — and want their glasses to say something worth hearing. These are not frames for blending in. They are frames for people who understand that what sits at the center of your face can communicate confidence, humor, creativity, and character — all before you’ve said a word.
The current theo collection includes standout lines such as Tubes, Friskos, Liquid Elements, Isolines, the titanium-and-acetate Make Up series, Pagoda, Bourbon Way, Stained Glass, and the Neon and Painter Palettes collections — each built around a distinct creative concept and finished with the recognizable theo twist that makes every frame immediately its own.
Our licensed opticians will guide you through the full theo range and help you find the frame that fits your face and reflects your personality — with same-day prescription fitting available through our in-house lens lab, backed by over 25 years of optical expertise in New York City.
Theo was born out of frustration — and a lot of love.
In the late 1980s, Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet were opticians running their own store in Antwerp. They were good at their work — but they were growing tired of what the mainstream eyewear market was offering their clients: safe shapes, predictable colors, frames designed to be worn without being noticed.
They wanted to offer something else. So they created it.
In 1989, the first theo collection was launched. It was groundbreaking — frames designed not to follow trends but to start conversations, built for the individualist rather than the average wearer. With each collection, the reach expanded. The brand that began as a memo scrawled on an order form — “theo loves you” — became the rallying point for one of the most distinctive eyewear identities in the world.
Wim’s sons Mik and Toon later joined the family business, carrying forward the same founding conviction. Patrick Hoet, who sold his shares in the business but remained as exclusive designer, continued contributing to the creative direction alongside theo’s own in-house design team. The headquarters remain in Antwerp — because that city, with its particular appetite for art, fashion, and unconventional thinking, is exactly where this brand belongs.
Theo is widely recognized for pushing the boundaries of eyewear design. Its collections are influenced by art, architecture, and experimental concepts, resulting in frames that are both visually impactful and technically refined. Strong proportions, clean lines, and innovative construction techniques define each piece.
Color plays a central role in Theo’s identity. Vibrant, unexpected combinations and bold tones transform each frame into a statement object. These designs are not only visually engaging but also intended to evoke emotion and bring a sense of joy to the wearer.
Creative partnerships have been instrumental in shaping Theo’s evolution. Collaborations with designers such as Christoph Broich introduced unique concepts like safety-pin-inspired sunglasses, while work with James Van Vossel led to the development of the Plié collection, known for its folding-inspired structure.
Designer Tim Van Steenbergen also contributed refined, fashion-driven elements, blending haute couture influences with eyewear design. These collaborations continuously expand Theo’s creative boundaries and reinforce its reputation for innovation.
Every theo frame is designed in Antwerp and crafted in high-quality ateliers around the world. That combination — European creative discipline with global manufacturing excellence — is what makes theo frames as technically refined as they are visually striking.
The design philosophy begins with a refusal. Theo does not follow trends. Instead, it builds its own universe — collection by collection, concept by concept — drawing from art, architecture, music, culture, and whatever else catches the eye of a design team that operates with genuine creative freedom. The result is a body of work that is immediately recognizable as theo’s and impossible to replicate.
The Make Up collection — built in titanium and acetate in “visual layers” — uses combination colors to add subtle definition to the face without overwhelming it: soft rounds, cat-eyes, pantos, geometric shapes, and modified squares in combinations like pink and red, bright blue and yellow, neon green and tortoise. The Stained Glass collection draws from cathedral light and color fragmentation. The Pagoda collection plays with architectural silhouette. The Neon collection pushes the palette to its most vivid edge.
Each model carries what theo calls “a recognizable theo twist” — playful, unexpected, and always expressive. These are frames conceived as small works of art on your face, designed by a brand that genuinely believes a pair of glasses can be a compliment.
